A need has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to be an integral part of a new department, reporting into the Logistics Finance Supervisor. This is a unique role combining transport and accounts and a great opportunity for someone who wants to excel.  The role is ideal for an individual with accounts/finance experience that also is confident offering top quality customer service. As an Accounts Assistant you will be supported with study opportunities and the option of hybrid working when fully trained.  
 
Duties include
Working as an Accounts Assistant you will be:

  • Processing journals for hauliers and clients ensuring that accounts are reconciled correctly
  • Creating and processing manual invoice and credit notes for approval 
  • Posting to Purchase and Sales Ledgers whilst undertaking Credit Control responsibilities
  • Processing accounts to include, set up, change of details and termination 
  • Managing the department company email, ensuring that a timely response is given to all enquiries
  • Working closely with the transport team communicating any queries that you have from hauliers and clients ensuring a timely resolution 
  • Working to deadlines for prompt delivery of weekly and month end accounts
  • Making outbound calls chasing aged debt 
  • Providing an exceptional level of customer service to all clients and hauliers 

 
Minimum skills/ experience required
As an Accounts Assistant you will have: 

  • Worked within an accounts function as a junior or an assistant 
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A good understanding of MS office specifically Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting systems
  • Confidence and be an assertive communicator
  • Simultaneously managed multiple tasks 

 
The package

  • Working Monday to Friday 08.30- 17.00 with an hours lunch

The role:

  • It is likely you will have previously shown strong analytical and communication skills, managed a Finance Team whilst interacting with a Global Group of Companies and with a variety of key stakeholders
