  • 80% of live vacancies now filled within 18 months  Winbro manufactures advanced machining technologies,  producing cooling holes and forms in and on components used  within aero engines and industrial gas turbines. Using laser, electro discharge machining, electro chemical machining and their related technologies, Winbro produces innovative and robust turn-key solutions for clients' applications.  Winbro enjoys existing long-term relationships with many of the world's leading aero and industrial gas turbine manufacturers. Recruiting and employing the very best personnel is key to maintaining the trust and patronage of clients, who expect and rely on Winbro to deliver solutions to applications in the most professional and collaborative manner. Winbro's initial recruitment problems In a niche industry, the competition to recruit talented and highly skilled staff is extremely fierce. As a consequence Winbro experienced great difficulty in sourcing the best applications by simply relying on recruitment agencies that had little or no knowledge of this unique manufacturing area. The result had been a frustrating waste of both time and energy. Precision People's solution The 'Precision process' is not rocket science but is based on common sense tactics, initially analysing all aspects of a client's requirements. In Winbro's case, Precision's Senior Engineering Consultant made a series of site visits to fully evaluate the culture within the company. Meetings with Heads of Departments took place with the sole purpose of producing a clear, accurate description of Winbro's perfect candidate' for each vacancy. Result Winbro’s recruitment record has significantly improved, now achieving 80% of live vacancies successfully filled within an 18 months period; this is no mean task especially as the majority of vacancies involve rare skill sets. Precision achieved this remarkable turnaround by employing its unique 'Talent Pooling' and Precision continues to work closely with Winbro, in this crucial area of recruitment and is both pleased and proud to play its part in Winbro's success in maintaining and sustaining rapid growth both in the UK and the USA.  What Winbro say about Precision People: "Precision has been our only preferred supplier for resourcing staff over the past three years. Their strong understanding of our business, our organisational culture and the calibre of people we are looking to hire, has made them key to our recruitment strategy in the UK as well as overseas. Where other agencies have struggled, Precision has been able to support our recruitment of high-quality candidates into going the extra mile in their search for high-calibre candidates and providing professional, pro-active and personal service. This has made it a great partnership and we look forward to continuing to work with Precision for the years to come." Human Resource Manager, Winbro Group Technologies. • Eight people hired and on course to fulfil 2022 growth plans. Health, Safety & Engineering experts Finch Consulting have provided consultancy, litigation and advice to a diverse range of Clients since 1990. Finch Consulting specialise in the potential health and safety risks when people interact with engineering, plant and equipment. Finch has the expertise and competence in identifying hazards and aids their client's in implementing the control of risks. Their team of professional consultant Engineers, Scientists and Discipline Specialists understand engineering health and safety. Working across many sectors, Finch Consultants work seamlessly with their clients to understand the possible interactions between people and engineering. They listen closely to their clients, to ensure they have the best possible understanding of their operations and then, using individual and collective knowledge, they help identify the hazards. Since an MBO in early 2012, it's culture has continued to evolve, resulting in high revenue growth and the development of the team, with a very strong emphasis on investment in people to catalyse accelerated growth through to 2022. They realised that hiring the right people was their biggest barrier to growth. The problem Finch Consulting have committed to a strategic growth plan with people at its core, which meant a recruitment drive. As the candidates they wanted to hire were technical experts, they invested substantially in trade advertising with disappointing results. They also enlisted a number of recruiters with limited knowledge of their field. After 12 months they had hired only one new person. They believed that it was because there weren't many experts in the marketplace that worked at the highly technical levels they operate at. The solution Finch decided to approach a technical consultancy, to see if they could understand the technical depth and be able to attract the right people to them. Finch Consulting approached Precision. Precision took an in-depth approach to identifying and really understanding what Finch are about as a business and what type of industry experts they needed. Fast forward twelve months and twelve people have been interviewed with eight industry experts being hired in the fields of engineering risk. Finch Consulting are now on course to fulfil their commitment to their growth plans by 2022. What Finch Consulting say about Precision: "Phil Walker has worked very hard with HSEC RHMA to understand our uncompromising focus on our principles of intellectual rigour, added client value and client delivery. Our business model is actually quite simple but our services are sophisticated, and many times complex, so as to be able to help solve our clients' real engineering health and safety risk problems. Simply, great people are at the core of what we do. We are rapidly expanding our team due to increasing demand for our services but we cannot compromise on quality - ever; we, therefore, need great support and Phil has been exhaustive in the time he has spent really thinking through and delivering the high calibre of people we need. Phil understands that competence is measured not only by experience, training and qualifications but is also strongly influenced by attitude, personality and work ethic. He does understand the hard and the soft qualities of the people we need. Phil works as our one of our team helping to build our team. Our business is trust - we trust Phil."  Dom Barraclough, MD, Finch Consulting BEng (Hons), MSc, CEng, MIMechE, MIET, MIAgrE, SIIRSM To find out more how Precision People can help your business grow, contact Phil Walker on 0116 254 5411 or email
