The Role:

The Sales Manager will be working for a passionate company selling Major Works and Modernisation's of passenger lifts both traction and hydraulics. Depending on your location this role may be home-based.

The candidate will be working closely with the Department Director to manage contracts. You will be a confident individual with a strong knowledge and experience within both the major modernisation and new lift sales.

The role also requires technical, engineering and field management expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts site surveys in a safe and confident manner.

  • Identifying, quantifying, securing new business opportunities as well as the development of existing.

  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction are maintained in all areas of your responsibility

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the business

The Candidate:

  • A proven salesman with a strong pipeline and client portfolio
  • Confident in meeting & communicating with clients, consultants to review, discuss their requirements.

  • Experienced in tender bid compilation, presentation and contract negotiations.

  • Strong analytically, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Computer literate in excel, word, outlook and power-point.

  • Good knowledge, practical understanding of EN regulations relating in-service to lifts and escalators.

The Role:

You will be working with a team of engineers and closely with the Provincial Major Works Director to manage contracts and help to achieve financial plans for 2019 and beyond. You will be a confident individual with strong knowledge within both the major lift modernisation & installation with first-class organisational & planning skills. The role also requires technical, engineering and field management expertise and a collaborative can-do management style to work with our clients and employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure project handovers are conducted ensuring sales conditions, tender & technical requirements are as specified & agreed.

  • Survey for installation of new projects.

  • Liaise with manufacturers, suppliers and fabricators on design, layouts and products information.

  • Secure labour with Project Managers.

  • Agree site programmes of work with clients.

  • Compile site specific CDM H&S plans

  • Attend pre-contract & pre-start meetings

  • Conduct contract/project handovers with project managers

  • Assist with contract application valuations, achieve approvals & payments.

  • Engineering support from project start-ups through to completions.

  • Work alongside project managers to achieve timely handovers with minimal controllable defects

  • Ensure handover of completed works to legislative standards.

  • Assist with compilation of O&M manuals

  • Installation & modernisation audits.

The Role

To test a range of passenger lifts to the highest engineering and safety standards, and in accordance with the requirements set out in Test sheet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure every lift you test is carried out to the highest engineering and safety standards and also in accordance with BS8486. No lift will be handed over where there is a concern over product safety or the safety of the end user due to non-product concerns.
  • No CE marked lift will be modified without the written approval of the OEM.
  • Tests sheets and all accompanying paperwork should be returned within 2 days of completed test.
  • Forms must be completed based on quality of installation, training issues recorded database.
  • Any part of installation subject to dynamic testing must be checked and adjusted prior post dynamic test in accordance with OEM guidance notes.
  • During testing phase of installation tester is senior site representative empowers testers to direct all site labour as to what is required with regard to quality standards and safe systems of work.
  • List of items left with installer detailing what is required, copy also sent to Contracts Manager.
  • The Test Engineer will be expected to undertake any duties within their capacity to meet the needs of the business and/or the Test Department function including Technical items/issues

The Candidate:

  • Hold an NVQ 4 qualification in Testing of Passenger Lifts.
  • Knowledge of construction sites and building process.
  • Read & understand a wide range of construction drawings - builders, architects, engineers.
  • Previous role as a Tester, testing a range of passenger lifts - traction and hydraulic.
  • A sound understanding of Lifts Directives and Building Standards.
  • Must be good at organising site visits so that they are efficiently planned
  • Customer focused - good at communicating with customers verbally, on the telephone, by email
  • Ability to work well unsupervised - linked to being a well organised and good at time management

Attend all service visits within contractual time frames, ensuring that all minor repairs are carried out in a professional, competent and timely manner. To take responsibility for any paired mate to instruct on a technical level, maintain and Health & Safety best practices. The basic salary you start on will depend on experience if you are keen to study your NVQ 4 qualification this company will fully support this career development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the Service Manager of daily activities & keep them updated with current field-based issues.

  • Liaise with on site lift inspectors on all ongoing job-related matters including technical issues and outstanding works.
