My client is an established firm in the engineering manufacturing sector, based near Walsall commutable from Pool Green, Aldridge, Burntwood, Sutton Coldfield, Dudley and Wolverhampton. They are currently looking for an experienced Process / Planning Engineer with a background in precision engineering and manufacturing.
Other suitable job titles could include: Production Planner, Process Engineer, Process Planner or Planning Engineer.

The Role

  • Working with engineering drawings, predominantly for aerospace machined components
  • Create a production route for manufacturing to issue to the shop floor and enter into the MRP system
  • Estimate hours required for each discipline in the route
  • Identify all mandatory requirements needed to complete production
  • Identify Materials and parts required items to purchase to complete production
  • Identify all subcontract processes required during manufacturing including the purchase of manufactured component parts
  • Raising the routes onto the MRP System
  • Support management to achieve production targets
  • Utilise engineering drawings to ensure the work carried out is accurate
  • To undertake the above duties in such a manner as to comply with the company Health and Safety at Work policy
 
Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
  • Recent experience as a Process Engineer or Planning Engineer within a precision engineering and manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience in a low-volume production environment, ideally within the aerospace, automotive, or a similar precision engineering industry
  • Able to take BOM’s from the customer and reproduce for shop floor use
  • Experience of creating route cards for welding/fabrication/machining/assembly processes
  • Experience of writing operation instructions
  • Skilled at working to engineering drawings and exacting tolerances
  • Good communication skills; both verbally and written
  • Be a team player who is self-motivated and quality orientated
  • Computer literate with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and Excel

  • Salary £35k-£45k per annum 
  • Salary depending on skill and experience level

My client is an established firm in the engineering manufacturing sector, based in Durham. This role is commutable from East Durham, Houghton-Le-Spring, Hartlepool, Stockton-On-Tees, Middlesbrough, Sunderland, Chester-Le-Street, Boldon, Wingate, and Gateshead with close links to the A19. We are seeking a trained engineer with a strong background in heat treatment and metallurgy environments to be the process expert in the machining facility. 
Other job titles may include: Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Metallurgical Engineer.

 

The Role
● Management of ongoing heat treatment process performance through metallurgical assessment.
● Designing and implementing moderate machine modifications to optimise safety, quality or output performance.

● Setting and managing revenue budgets, to ensure all necessary resources are available to achieve business needs.

● Identification and justification of capital expenditure projects. Including spend management and post-implementation review.

● Leading and delivering projects, such as new production lines or new product introductions.

● Creation of process-specific quality documentation, to ensure conformance to control plans. 

● Performance of risk assessments and PUWER reviews and sign-off to ensure a safe working environment, champion the principles of 5S and H&S as appropriate.

● Creation of standard operation procedures for QCDP tasks.

● Communicating effectively with the team and other functions, to ensure understanding of business/department objectives. 

● Support activities of other functions within the business, as may be necessary to achieve the business objectives.

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a strong desire to work in a team environment. 

● Through liaison with production personnel, review, control and implement effective and efficient improvements to engineering specifications, fixtures, tooling and build operations. 

● Responsible for hands-on analysis, problem-solving and development of all production processes, methods, and engineering specifications. 

 

Minimum Skills / Experience Required

●Candidate must have an excellent understanding of induction heating and microstructures

● Proven manufacturing, process or production engineering experience within an automotive environment

● Experience of introducing new products to manufacture, creating production procedures, and designing jigs, fixtures, and tooling. 

● Must have previous experience controlling financial budgets and working to tight production deadlines and cost constraints. 

● Experience of working alongside design and manufacturing teams to solve production issues and help with input towards new product design. 

● Understanding of SolidWorks CAD system (Desired)

CFD Modelling Engineer (COMSOL)

The Role: CFD Modelling Engineer (COMSOL)

My Client are opening a brand new site in Warwickshire and are recruiting for a CFD Modelling Engineer working primarily with COMSOL. The position will require you to develop and assess early stage structural, CFD and Heat Transfer Concepts. Experience with COMSOL nonlinear structures and turbulent modelling packages is desirable along with a good understanding of Heat Transfer Systems.

The Role: Mechanical Design Engineer

My Client are opening a brand new site in Warwickshire and are recruiting for a Mechanical Design Engineer to assist in the design of machinery and equipment including mechanical systems, thermofluids, hydraulics and structural components

Key Responsibilities

  • Design of machinery and equipment including mechanical systems, thermofluids, hydraulics and structural components.

  • Carrying out engineering calculations, component sizing and selection & machine design

  • Mechanical design of all test systems including CAD drawings, BOM, schematics and supporting documentation

  • Involved directly with concept definition, system design, component selection, testing, verification, and validation of prototypes and final products.

  • Implementation of various design standards and practices including adherence to ISO9001 and CE marking to achieve type certification

  • Identifying, evaluating and managing manufacturing partners and suppliers both in Europe and worldwide

  • Preparation of technical manuals and reports

  • Technical support and guidance to other team members. Participating in design meetings and disseminating progress to team members and management

  • Supporting workshop production and build/assembly of large prototypes as required

The Right Person

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, as well as possessing the following key skills:

  • 5 years relevant industrial experience in mechanical design of machines, systems, engines, heat pumps or similar

  • Automotive and/or heavy engineering industry experience

  • Preferably hydraulic systems design experience

  • Practical / Hands-on experience

  • Solidworks experience required. PDM an advantage, but not essential
