Electrical Controls Engineer

The Role - Electrical Controls Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Engineer to join the Electrical and Control team working on innovative and diverse projects with global brands. The successful Electrical Control Engineer will develop commercially focused and innovative engineering solutions to solve complex client problems with responsibility for delivery from initial concept through to final handover.

My client operate from 30 Countries delivering projects and consultation around the World. Working in multiple sectors including; pharmaceutical, food & beverage, aerospace and advanced manufacturing.

Responsibilities

  • Engineering design - providing tailored solutions incorporating an appropriate blend of innovation, experience & practicality
  • Ensuring project deliverables are met - production of clear unambiguous engineering outputs including specifications and scope of work incorporating measurable performance requirements.
  • Project profitability - control of capital expenditure and contractor variations for their engineering disciplines
  • Project completion - meeting programme dates agreed by them/their contractors
  • Legislation - ensure project compliance with legal requirements including BS7671 and the relevant amendments
  • Working as an individual or as an effective member of a multi-disciplined project team leading one or more of the engineering disciplines
  • Client relationships - develop a working relationship and adding value
  • Committed to delivering project objectives within capital, time, quality and legislative parameters

The Right Person

The successful Electrical Control Engineer will preferably be educated to degree/HNC/HND level or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline with chartered status, or working towards chartered status. You will also possess the following:

  • Automation background with experience of PLC & SCADA design
  • System architecture design and configuration knowledge
  • Process commissioning experience
  • Experience in engineering specification and tender documentation preparation
  • A proven track record of budget/cost control of projects
  • Knowledge of order placement & invoicing
  • Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) coordination and subcontractor management
  • HV/LV distribution systems and networks knowledge
  • Experience in building services - lighting, fire alarms, small power
  • Experience in food & beverage (hygienic environment)

The Role - Civil Engineer

Due to an increase in business and growth of the business, my client have a need for a Civil Engineer to work within their experienced Civil Engineering Design Team. The team works for clients throughout the East Midlands and United Kingdom, designing SuDS drainage schemes and highway works using Microdrainage and PDS industry standard software with final drawings produced in AutoCAD, the team also carry out flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.

The Company

My client provide a range of consultancy services to all sectors within the construction industry, this is done from their 4 offices spread across the East Midlands. They provide experienced employees in everything from architects, project managers and contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Design and drafting of SuDS and foul water drainage schemes, adopted highway works and external works for national house builders and other sectors including leisure, retail, commercial and industrial

  • Planning and organisation of tasks, people and resources to deliver projects on time and in accordance with current design guidelines

The Right Person

The successful Civil Engineer would suit a civil engineering graduate with three to five years experience working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer. The successful candidate will be given on the job training to develop their skills and they will work closely with other team members of the civil engineering team. Knowledge of the construction industry and basic health and safety is essential.

The Role - CAD Engineer

The successful CAD Engineer will be responsible for producing practical solutions using 3D design software, in line with customers requirements.   • Working on projects from design to completion
  • Design of new specialist components using Autodesk Inventor (3D)

  • Taking accurate records of installations and providing technical support to our sales and workshop teams
  • Accurately entering information in to the company MRP system

The Right Person

The successful CAD Engineer will have the following attributes.

  • A relevant engineering/design qualification, and/or previous proven engineering design experience]
  • Previous experience using Autodesk Inventor 3D or other 3D design modelling package
  • Experience of designing concepts from sheet metal (not essential)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • A flexible approach as this will involve work within the design and workshop departments

The successful person will be part of a highly skilled team, responsible the production of mechanical designs for special purpose machines and equipment using 3D CAD (Ideally SolidWorks).

  • Constructive input to project meetings to ensure customer satisfaction, machine specification, delivery dates and costings are all met efficiently and in time
  • Develop user manuals in line with standards set by operations team
  • Respond to the direction of the operations manager, health & safety committee & other management and contribute to ensuring business effectiveness

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer will be a graduate or time served engineer with previous experience of similar work as listed below.

  • Knowledge and understanding of bespoke/special purpose automation
