The role:

Due to internal promotion within the buying and procurement department the company is now seeking an experienced Buyer to join the business on a full time, permanent basis. As a Buyer you will be working closely alongside the Head Buyer to support the buying process. The ideal candidate:
 

  • Mechanical/Technical engineering knowledge or background is desirable but not essential
     
  • Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer/Buyer is a must for this role

Key responsibilities:
 

  • Processing orders from key accounts
     
  • Update Excel and ERP systems accordingly to process orders and keep on track with the supplier process
     
  • Ensuring that Excel and ERP systems are updated accordingly to maintain stock levels
     
  • Generating purchase orders as agreed with the Head Buyer utilising preferred suppliers
     
  • Contacting suppliers to order stock
     
  • Accepting deliveries of stock arrival, checking against allocated purchase order
     
  • Matching purchase orders to delivery notes, streamlining the accounts process
     
  • Gaining an understanding of the manufacturing of mechanical equipment, enabling you to recognise and allocate the correct materials

The Role

  • To carry out Structural Testing and Analysis of Lighting Columns throughout the UK. 
  • This work is carried out for local councils, highways and the rail network.
  • Undertaking the testing of lampposts using machinery and test equipment (training will be provided)

The Role of Technical Applications Engineer:
