My client is an established firm in the wood machinery sector, based in the East Midlands and commutable from Leicestershire and surrounding areas with close links to the M1, M69 and A50. They are currently looking for a skilled individual to install, repair, service and maintain wood machinery on various sites 


The Role:

  • Electrical and mechanical fault finding and repair on wood machinery/dust extractors
  • Fault-finding on electrical components (3 phase motors/relays)

  • Pre-planned machinery maintenance

  • Installation of machinery

  • Liaising with support team

  • Reporting of repair and maintenance activities

  • Communication with customers while on site

Minimum Skills / Experience Required:

  • Ability to fault-find on electrical components on machinery

  • Previous experience within Field/service engineering

  • Ability to travel to Switzerland for machinery training

  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering qualifications or relevant industry experience (Essential)

  • Monitor customer responses to automated monthly emails

  • Generate quotes for any remedial work following jobs and any other quotations from customers or the sales team, i.e machine moves

They have an opportunity for an experienced or junior Estimator with Demolition or Construction industry experience to join their growing team. This is commutable from Leicester, Coventry, Tamworth, Hinckley, Derby, Nottingham, Corby, Daventry and Birmingham. 

The ideal Estimator candidate will have a proven track record in winning work within the construction and demolition sectors and have good commercial and contractual knowledge.
 
The Role of Estimator:
- Tasked with the primary function of estimating, this role will be required to build competitive tenders and bids, as well as building strong relationships with existing and new target clients
- This role will enhance the existing work winning team in their efforts to meet overall business goals, securing the companies foothold within key sectors and with key clients
- Research materials, equipment and labour costs and secure the best rates
- Input all relevant product specifications and pricing information into the proposal
- Collate competitive quotes from approved sub-contractors and suppliers
- Understand the client’s requirements
- Help with bids for existing repeat business and new contracts and support buying activities
