Senior Engineer

The Role: Senior Engineer

The successful Senior Engineer will be involved with writing specifications, reviewing tenders, producing designs, providing site based activities including, testing and commissioning. You will also support and lead the management of technical interfaces, particularly clients. The position provides great opportunities for skills development, training and career growth. Key Responsibilities

  • To work at a senior role in the management of projects; take management responsibility for project engineers, design engineers and CAD operators on their mentoring, objective setting, establish best practice, training and development

  • Work as part of a team to design, build, test and commission engineering solutions to customer specifications and produce designs, drawings and documentation

  • Technical support to the development of current and future systems architectures/designs and their implementation

  • Support in processing client changes to contracts and management engineering solutions for customer projects

  • Supervise, mentor and support Design Engineers to establish best practice, and help them fulfil their potential and development

The Right Person

You will need to have an excellent working knowledge of building, implementing and maintaining Rail systems and infrastructure on client’s sites, Substantial experience of Rail Projects (Controls Systems) and operational requirements thereof as well as possessing the following key skills:

  • An excellent working knowledge of Building, Implementing and Maintaining Rail Systems and Infrastructure

  • In Depth knowledge of system design, including general arrangements, schematic diagrams, loop diagrams etc

  • Experience producing Project Documentation (Functional Design Specifications, Test Procedures etc)

  • Experience working as part of a team that has been involved in the design, build, test & commissioning of engineering solutions

Our established client specialise in UK-wide projects. They are currently looking for a Project Manager or Contracts Manager with experience of managing asbestos removal projects within the construction or demolition industry. This is commutable from Leicester, Coventry, Tamworth, Hinckley, Derby, Nottingham and Birmingham.
 
You will work within the contracts team, ensuring all projects are managed safely and efficiently, to contract specifications, objectives, and deliverables.

The principal role of the Project Manager is to have ownership of all aspects of a project including, planning, client communications, operational delivery and commercial control. The project manager will support and lead the Site Managers / Supervisors through the delivery.

The Role:
- Project management of Asbestos removal projects
- Planning and organisation of activities with the contract team support functions
- Agreeing baseline project programs prior to project commencement
- Generate detailed sequencing and RAMS 
- Management of QHSE through the site team
- Primary communications with the Client
- Programme weekly reporting to Contracts Manager
- Ownership of commercial change and reporting with support from QS
- Operational delivery of specifications
- Managing to program & budget plans
- Assessing & Managing Operational Risks
- Compliance with Operational processes
- Subcontractor performance
- Managing Incidents & NC
- Managing company standards on site

Our established client specialise in UK-wide demolition projects. They are currently looking for an experienced Receptionist with demolition project exposure to join their team based in Carlton, Nuneaton. This is commutable from Leicester, Coventry, Tamworth, Hinckley, Derby, Nottingham and Birmingham.

Accounts Administration training will be provided on a variety of tasks and duties.

Receptionist Duties:

  • Attend to all visitors to the Company and direct as appropriate, ensuring that all visitors sign into the business, and maintain security awareness.
  • Answer the telephone, screen, and direct calls, and to take and relay messages as required.
  • Log Boardroom bookings and arrange any catering requirements.
  • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the business as required.
  • Open, date stamp, sort and distribute incoming mail.
  • To work collaboratively with other employees and develop a strong knowledge of the business.
  • Any other reasonable duty that is within your capability.

Purchasing Assistant Duties (Once Trained):

  • Collating Goods Received Notes and Timesheets from the electronic app and site post.
  • Monitoring site posts and chasing any not received weekly.
  • Process GRN's on Sage 50 against Purchase Orders.
  • Daily audit and printing of open Purchase Orders to check correct information completed.
  • Chasing buyers for missing purchase orders and completing invoice log.
  • Internal chasing of signed invoices and dispute statuses.
  • Assist manager with junior PL duties - statement reconciliations, changing dispute codes etc.
  • Filling as required.
  • Monitor "Finance" inbox, distributing emails and printing invoices/credit notes.
  • Number Stamping and dating all invoices/credits/statements.
  • Credit cards - download statements, collate invoices, and code transactions.

Key Skills / Experience Required:

  • Previously worked as a Receptionist
  • GCSE in Maths and English
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Sage 50 (training can be provided)
  • Good financial and commercial acumen gained working within an accounting team (desirable)
  • Experience in public facing role
  • Good written and interpersonal skills and the ability to challenge constructively.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise own workload
  • Confident, assertive, flexible, and self-motivated.
