Sales Manager - South UK

My client have been serving the Aerospace and Defense industry for over 50 years. They are responsible for design-in and sales of Electro-Mechanical components and Electro-Optical devices and have built a solid reputation across European markets.

They are looking for a technical minded Sales Manager to grow their existing client base whilst constantly 'HUNTING' for new projects and opportunities. The successful individual will be supported by the European head office for orders, logistics and (SOME) administrative matters. Their technical experts will also provide support in case of complex issues. It is expected for the individual to be up and running effectively from the start following initial training. The deals worked on often go through long design phases and it can take long for proper orders to materialise. However, good programs will keep delivering business year after year with some individuals substantially increasing their income.

Covering South of the UK, Person to be ideally located along the M25 corridor or south of this as the role will involve 'ALOT' of travelling so potential applicants must have a full clean driving license.

The Role:

  • Search for new clients and opportunities, whilst maintaining existing accounts
  • Technical knowledge to provide a 'Solution Sales' approach 
  • Fully advise customers in the design-in phase
  • Work with independently and feel confident in your abilities.
  • Extensive travel to customer locations
Minimum Skills / Experience Required: 
  • Experience in Aerospace, Defense, or Telecommunications industry
  • Mechanical or Electrical engineering background
  • Ability to demonstrate experience and knowledge to educate clients
  • Full clean driving license
  • Work on there own as this is a Work for Home role

Our established client design, build and supply bespoke drilling and cutting tool machinery into customers globally. They are looking for a skilled Mechanical Machine Tool Fitter to help build new manual and CNC machines. Commutable from Epsom, Wimbledon, Leatherhead, Cobham, Streatham and Dorking. 

Working within the company’s Machine Tool division based in Chessington, Surrey the role will be directly involved in the manufacture and commissioning of specialist drilling machines of varying specifications to meet ongoing customer orders.
Other titles include: Machine Tool Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, Machine Fitter, Machine Builder. 

The Role - 

  • The successful Machine Tool Fitter will be responsible for building bespoke CNC machinery from scratch
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings 
  • Surface grinding 
  • Machine alignments
  • Pipe bending
  • Working with angular contact bearings
  • Hand scraping
  • Hand tapping
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic circuits
  • Working to tight tolerances
  • Working with high pressure fittings
  • Installation and commissioning of machines

Experience Required -

  • The ideal Machine Tool Fitter candidate will be an apprentice trained or time served engineer educated to City & Guilds or BTEC level with relevant experience and a strong understanding of precision machine tool fitting practices
  • You must possess the ability to assemble from component level using hand tools and standard measuring equipment, working to tight tolerances and appreciate the need to maintain a very high standard of workmanship
  • Applicants must be able to plan and work on their own initiative with minimal supervision and accept some flexibility of working hours if required to meet customer deadlines
  • The individual must also be hard working and extremely reliable, possessing a proactive problem solving approach and be a strong team player
  • Understand all aspects of engineering drawings and processes
  • Experience of CNC and PLC controls

 The Package -

  • Starting salary of up to £40k per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Mon to Thurs - 08.00-17.30, Fri 08.00-12.00 - can choose different working hours
  • 38 hours per week

  • Annual Leave is 25 days plus Bank Holidays (33 days total) 
  • Bonus scheme after qualifying period
