My client is one of the fastest growing consultancies within their industry with a privately owned business, with offices in London, Sheffield, Manchester & Leeds.  They are currently looking for skilled Fire Engineers of all levels to join their growing team.

  

The Role - Fire Engineer:

  • Deliver a wide range of technical fire engineering and project management tasks.
  • Collaborate with the DFC team to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage project administration and financial setup with accuracy.
  • Represent DFC at design team meetings, fire workshops, and client events.
  • Work closely with clients and construction professionals to gain project management experience.
  • Actively contribute to technical discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Engage in clear, constructive communication internally and externally.
  • Receive support to build commercial and technical knowledge, aligned with chartership/professional qualifications.
  • Commit to continuous learning in fire engineering and support team knowledge-sharing.
  • Mentor and assist graduate engineers and peers, fostering collaborative development.
  • Produce engineering reports, calculations, and drawings to a high standard.
  • Adapt and collaborate across different technical disciplines, locations, and seniority levels. 

Minimum Skills / Experience Required - Fire Engineer

  • Hold at least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant STEM (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) field, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrate proficiency to converse technically in English, a crucial skill for effective collaboration within our team.

  • Possess experience in an engineering consulting role, preferably within a fire engineering environment.
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the UK construction industry, including familiarity with the project procurement process, RIBA stages and the pivotal role of a fire engineer within this framework.
  • Showcase a commitment to continuing professional development (CPD) having begun the journey towards Chartered Engineer (CEng) status, by identifying the relevant route applicable to your individual situation and qualifications.
  • Have experience in managing time, deliverables and training of graduate engineers within a fire engineering capacity.

The Package - Fire Engineer: 

  • Competitive Salary: Our Engineer salary shall be based on qualifications, relevant experience and strength of candidate.
  • London Weighting: A 12% weighting is applied to London team salaries, up to a maximum of £50k, the portions of salaries exceeding £50k do not attract London weighting.
  • Holiday Entitlement: 38 days paid annual leave, inclusive of the public statutory holiday days set for England and Wales each year, pro-rated for part time employees.

  • Bi-Annual Commercial Bonus Payment: Reflective of our commercial performance, paid in December and June, is based on a percentage of gross salary earned during the qualifying period.
