My client is one of the UK’s leading energy generation companies with a well-established and highly respected business, based within commutable distance from Leicester. They are currently looking for a skilled Finance Department Assistant (Maternity Cover).

The Role – Finance Department Assistant:
  • Processing incoming emails and posts, including downloading and checking PDF invoices
  • Checking purchase invoices for accuracy, including PO numbers and VAT validation
  • Uploading invoices into approval workflows and forwarding to budget holders
  • Inputting approved invoices into internal systems
  • Producing weekly payment runs
  • Carrying out bank reconciliations
  • Assisting with accruals and prepayment journals at the month-end
  • Monitoring the company Barclaycard's spending
  • Producing sundry sales invoices and supporting credit control activities
  • Processing staff expense claims and payment runs
  • Updating supplier details, including bank details and addresses
  • Reviewing supplier statements to ensure all invoices are received
  • Supporting ad-hoc finance administration duties
  • Working independently and as part of a wider finance team
Day Shifts, Monday to Thursday 08:24 – 16:30, Friday 08:24 – 15:30.
Flexi-time and occasional work from home available (after 3 months).

Minimum Skills / Experience Required – Finance Department Assistant:
  • Previous experience working within a finance department or similar environment
  • Experience with purchase ledger and invoice processing
  • Good attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
  • Computer-literate and confident using finance systems
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • AAT qualification advantageous but not essential
  • Motivated and professional team player
The Package – Finance Department Assistant:
  • £22 per hour
  • Early Friday finish
  • Flexi-time available
