Area Sales Manager - Unit Handling
Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester, Northampton, Nottingham, Peterborough, Lincoln, Milton Keynes
Salary £35,000-40,0000 plus bonus, car, health care and 25 days hols
My Client is Europe's most successful manufacturer into the unit handling industry, with their own service and manufacturing in many European countries
Role: Responsibility for company business into a well defined number of UK companies of either OEMs or End-users.
Basic responsibilities will be as follows: -
To help promote and develop, sales of the range of unit handling products.
To help achieve the company's sales budgets and growth targets.
Actively seek out new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking
Research accounts and generate or follow through sales leads.
Evaluate customers needs and build productive long-lasting relationships.
Schedule appointments and meetings as necessary.
Visit site when required to assess customer needs.
Draft offers, and quotations as required.
Maintain and expand customer database within assigned territory.
Forecast sales, develop strategies and evaluate effectiveness.
Report and provide feedback to Management.
You will be required to work in conjunction with the rest of the Sales team securing all possible enquiries. Liaising with production when necessary.
Attend sales events, seminars, exhibitions and product training to keep abreast of latest developments.
5 years of external sales experience selling technical products (preferable into unit handling industry)
Excellent communication and relationship building skills would be critical
Relevant technical/commercial education with short courses in sales skills a benefit
Flexibility, drive and self motivation as well as being prepared for travelling
Good presentation skills and use of computer basic software required
Hands-on ability and even experience from site would be beneficial
