The Role of Production Supervisor:

  • Working with the existing Production Manager to lead the manufacturing facility and ensure the delivery of customers’ orders, on time and in full, maintaining high standards and significantly improving lead times
  • Review existing processes and work with the Managing Director to implement improvements and modernisations
  • Oversee the expected daily production schedule, ensuring all manufacturing operations are completed
  • Liaise with the Sales Office and Dispatch teams and answer any queries
  • Prepping the production staff for the working day ahead and organising the factory to be clear and organised at the end of the working day
  • Dealing with basic repairs on machinery
  • Monitor jobs through the manufacturing process to spot and eliminate any faults or mistakes
  • Offering training to new or current employees, this being either skilled training or simple health and safety training
  • Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment
  • Taking ownership of all Health & Safety matters within the business
  • Monitor all health and safety risks and enforce PPE usage

 Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
  • At least 3 years experience as a Production Supervisor within a CNC engineering machine shop, with process such as Milling, Turning or Grinding
  • The above experience needs to be within a company that manufactures metal components
  • An understanding of production planning/scheduling processes
  • Strong people manager who can motivate people of varying skill and experience levels
  • Self-motivated and takes responsibility when things go wrong
  • Has the ability to review current processes and identify improvements
