Calling all NVQ 3 Qualified Lift Engineers!

We are on the lookout for skilled Lift Engineers that can commute to South West London and Surrey.

As a qualified Service, Repair and call-out Engineer you will complete maintenance and repair work to reduce the risk of future breakdown.

The Service, Callout & Repair Engineer will carry out service and repairs to a range of lifting equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional and cost-effective manner, maintaining documentation of all works carried out in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.

Lift Engineer - Responsibilities

  • Completing repair work - reducing the risk of breakdowns, accidents & emergency repairs

  • Inspect, clean, lubricate and adjust all components for optimum performance

  • All types and makes of passenger, goods and service lifts.

  • A detailed report of the work carried out at each service visit.

  • Identification of weak and faulty parts before they cause a problem

  • Priority repair work following a breakdown

  • Take part in the on-call rota

Lift Engineer - Requirements

  • Experienced Lift engineer (NVQ 3 qualified mandatory)

  • Industry Knowledge & proven experience (minimum of 5 years)

  • Service & Repairs

  • Confident with a range of manufacturers is desirable

  • Experience working on standby as part of an on-call rota

  • Experience servicing and repairing passenger lifts

Why this role?

This is a great opportunity for an experienced engineer with a good working knowledge of machinery safety to join a growing team. Your core responsibilities will be:

  • Oversight during machine safety audits and process safety compliance audits at our customer sites (machine safety assessment/risk reduction reviews) to determine level of compliance with local and European regulations and applicable standards;
  • Preparing, delivering and presenting reports, analysis and quotations of proposed risk reduction systems to prospective customers;
  • Review of proposed designs and qualify suitability of specifying machine safety system solutions that are accurate and comply with relevant standards and regulations;
  • Communicating with the Safety Service Team
  • Ensure strict validation procedures are adhered to with all documentation and authority signatures are attained prior to project close;
  • Project cost, time and quality control

What will I need to be successful?

  • Have a relevant engineering degree or have completed an apprenticeship with Technician level training
  • A Professional Safety certification (e.g. TUV) or in preparation to attain such status;
  • Experience in site installation projects for machine safety in, and the related processes and procedures in an industrial environment;
  • Experience and knowledge of applicable industrial machinery safety standards (EN, ISO, etc.);
  • Experience and knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic concepts; associated with industrial machinery;
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to convert identifiable needs into product solutions;
