The Candidate:

Minimal experience in the following:

Internal Sales, account management or customer service experience

Customer focused

High attention to detail, with analytical skills

Excellent IT skills

Superior telephone manner

Driving licence and car due to location

The Role:

Portraying an excellent company image to customers encouraging repeat business

Act as a focal point for customers for the provision of a wide range of information, and to ensure Customer’s needs are fully met

Take orders accurately including associated administration when required

Identify customer requirements and make best economic use of the company resources to ensure delivery to the satisfaction of the customer

Liaise with customers, solve problems provide information, resolve complaints appropriately

Develop relationships and build rapport with internal and external customers

Liaise with production/dispatch personnel to anticipate potential customer service issues and seek to resolve any such problems

Decide delivery priorities in the event of supply problems and guide dispatch through a revised programme

Investigate customer queries, report back with recommendations internally

Update plant availability/breakdown report on system and office board/information screens

Ensure customers are kept informed and are kept updated with any changes in the status of their orders

Continual monitoring of order progress to ensure fulfilment of customer requirements

Communicate with customers to inform them of the status of delivery, discussing alternative solutions with them, updating dispatch comments each time

Update dispatch comments with any relevant information as required

Resolve cash sale enquiries where appropriate

Investigate and update customer invoice queries

This global company is a market leader providing technology products and associated services to the rail industry. They offer support tools that can be used for advanced planning of railways and for real time and near real time decision making for operating railroads. Our Client base is Railway Owners and Operators in the public and private sector and suppliers and contractors to Owners and Operators. This company currently has a position available for a senior hardware and integration Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES * Customer system requirements capture and analysis * Design activities: hardware * Interface Specifications drafting (if required) * Lead system integration activities on several nominated projects * Provide technical customer support * Conduct system acceptance tests * Conduct trial projects

COMPETENCIES *

Propose modifications to engineering design and interpreting drawings, specifications and other technical documents for the subcontractors

Drafting technical drawings and specifications for railway vehicles and equipment.

Conduct FEA

Understand quality requirements and industry standards with various railway applications.

Basic electronic background with radio system and wireless equipment.

Manage and coordinate warranty requests and material returns.

Fault find equipment including embedded processors, touch screen monitors, multiband antennas, GPS antennas, server communications, electrical cabling, connectors etc.

Installation of mechanical and electrical equipment in a Railway environment.

Manage suppliers, comprehend subcontract scope, terms and technical requirements.

Draft scope of work

Communications skills in writing and speaking (including technical communications)

Prepare required documentation records such as status report, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches/photos of work already completed, etc.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor as needed *

Computer Science or Systems Engineering related degree or equivalent

Experience with System Engineering and integrated software systems i.e. software and hardware.

Network / telecommunications knowledge (including security)

Operating systems (Windows embedded systems, linux, Android, IOS)  Mobile Device Management
