General Manager - Rental/Hire

  • £45000 - £55000 per annum car, bonus up to 25%, pension, health

THE ROLE:

  • Reporting into the National Logistics Director, this role is responsible for the entire site - including transport operations, fleet/workshop, sales, rental and admin.
  • Management of a team of mostly self-employed drivers (70% of workforce) plus own staff - circa 90 heads altogether.
  • Full P&L responsibility for the site - circa £10 million.
  • Cultural Change and Engagement of your staff.
  • Commercially growing the operation via organic growth of existing clients and also onboarding of new clients via business development and customer related activities.

THE PERSON:

  • Commercially focused Logistics Manager who has end-to-end experience of running their own site.
  • Rental/Hire experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Full P&L management within an Operations/Logistics setting of at least £2 million.
  • Able and willing to work within an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and autonomous medium-sized business.
  • A hands on, driven, "lead from the front" kind of person is needed for this role.
  • Ideally experienced in Transport, Fleet/Workshops and Commercials.
  • Someone who is keen to make their mark.
