Our client is a world class manufacturer of Special Purpose Machinery. They offer unrivalled products to a diverse number of markets including Aerospace, Rail, Oil & Gas, Defence & Infrastructure. 
This is a key position,supporting the development and implementation of their QMS systems,Quality Engineering procedures and processes. You will be supported by a great team of engineers to work alongside suppliers to support the quality activities within the business.

Key responsibilities

• Broad Engineering knowledge and comprehension of manufacturing processes/techniques: machining, fabrication, surface finishing. 
• Comprehension of quality processes/techniques: machining, fabrication, surface finishing. Proficiency to support suppliers with quality issues
• Aptitude to work accurately under pressure, at a fast pace delivering multiple engineering  projects at different stages 
• Self-motivated, highly organised with the ability to work unsupervised 

• Hands-on Quality/Quality supplier experience of an SME manufacturing business 

• Around 5-10 years proven experience within a broad quality engineering background ideally gained in special purpose machinery,turnkey engineering solutions or bespoke engineering machinery
• Qualified Quality Engineer with experience, ideally with manufacturing processes to include Fabrication, Machining and precision  engineering

• demonstrable track record of success operating in a manufacturing/assembly environment, providing ongoing development of QMS to ISO 9001:2015 
• Supporting with the Supplier Approval process 
• Performing internal and supplier audits, including their planning and report writing. 
• Providing support with inspection activities including goods inwards, monitoring of assembly and testing processes 
• Initiating and when required, leading continuous improvement activities identified by analysis of KPIs, investigations and other data

My client is an established firm in the precision engineering manufacturing sector, based in Melton Mowbray and commutable from Leicester, Loughborough, Derby, Nottingham. They are currently looking for a skilled CNC Programmer or CNC Setter to work on CNC Milling machines.

 

The Role:

- Setting and Operating CNC Milling machines

- Programming (if previous experience)

- Working on Mazatrol, Fanuc or Haas control systems

- Working from drawings

- Quality checking parts using various hand tools

- Maintaining machinery, removing swarf and routine oiling/greasing etc

- Working independently and as part of a team

 

Minimum Skills / Experience Required:

- Experience of Setting or Programming CNC Milling machines 

- Skilled on Fanuc, Haas or Mazatrol controls

- Must have worked on precision parts, small batches or one-offs

- Able to quality check own parts

- Motivated and excellent team player

- Able to commute to the LE13 area

 

The Package:

- Starting salary up to £28k per annum

- Rate depending on skill and experience level

- Only work 4 shifts per week but paid extra hours to make up to 39 hours per week

- Overtime available

- Free onsite parking

- Training will be provided on Morning shifts before you move onto the Late shift

Job Purpose:

The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting with assembly work in the morning and then using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck to help unload. load and organise a busy warehouse in the afternoon.

 

Duties:

- FLT operating

- Assembly of products using various metals and plastics

- Moving materials, stock and finished products

- Unloading and loading HGV's and Vans

- Helping to organise the warehouse to improve efficiency

 

Key Skills / Experience Required:

- Previous experience as a FLT Driver, FLT Operator, FLT Operative, Forklift Driver or Forklift Operative

- Counterbalance licence is essential

- Must have worked in a busy engineering or manufacturing business
