The Role:

To ensure that lift breakdowns are responded to efficiently on various sites on your assigned route whilst providing a high quality of customer service. Attend all breakdowns within contractual time frames, ensuring that all repairs are carried out in a professional, competent and timely manner. To take responsibility for any paired mate to instruct on a technical level, maintain and Health & Safety best practices. The basic salary you start on will depend on experience if you are keen to study your NVQ 4 qualification this company will fully support this career development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise the Repairs Manager of daily activities & update with current field based issues

  • Liaise with on-site lift inspectors on all job-related matters including technical outstanding works

  • Carry out breakdowns, repairs and call-out when required to do so

  • Demonstrate fault finding skills and knowledge of various types of lift equipment.

  • Provide completed repairs on breakdowns with a minimum number of callbacks.

  • Follow lift manuals and diagrams accurately when necessary.

  • Adhere to quality assurance; health and safety and environmental standards

  • Complete repair and breakdown report accurately when required.

  • Be able to maintain and balance the accuracy of lift services, repairs and breakdowns.

The Candidate:

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in Lift Engineering

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on a variety of lift equipment.

  • Possess practical skills preferably from a lift engineering background

  • Ability to follow lift manuals and diagrams and to adhere to health and safety requirements

  • Confidence to professionally handle sensitive situations

  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a variety of people, able to work under pressure with honesty and integrity

The Role:

This role will be working for a well-established lift engineering company. The task is to lead the delivery of trophy site new construction projects. You will effectively manage a team of Senior Project Managers to deliver projects on time and on budget.

This role has a National coverage but you will not be required to cover the London projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Major Projects will be on a large scale, multiple assets and location projects all over a value of £1m.

  • Leading a team of site-based staff to deliver large, complex and high-value new equipment Major Projects around the UK (excluding London)

  • Each project will have its own Profit and Loss and cost centre and the successful candidate will have the capability to handle larger projects of this type independently.

  • Responsible for managing multiple projects in excess of £20m projects

The Successful Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will have worked as a lift or escalator engineer or had involvement with lifting projects whilst working for a construction company. This candidate will have then worked their way up through management tiers either project management or operational roles to manage teams of other project managers on sizeable/multi-million-pound projects.

  • A proven track record in either the lift and escalator engineering industry or construction industry delivering high-value technical projects within the Lift or Construction industry.

  • Experience managing the strategic aspects of large projects including all reporting and forecasting and working closely with the project teams to mitigate any risk.

  • Defining project objectives, and ensuring these are achieved

  • Undertaking effective day to day management of the project and ensuring that the project runs to time and budget by taking P&L responsibility

  • Delivering operational performance excellence, customer satisfaction, engineering support and improved profitability.

You will assess learners in their workplace and on-line. Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality qualifications via on-site & online assessments.

  • Offering guidance to complete their qualification Lift Engineers/ Escalator Engineers

  • A QCF (NVQ) Assessor will support and assess people working towards qualifications in the lift and escalator industry.

  • Assess Engineers ensure they meet all the occupational standards needed to achieve their qualification.

Your day-to-day tasks will vary and will include:

  • On-site assessments/ visits - using e-portfolio software - Create & examine candidate's portfolio's

  • Planning/ delivering vocational training programmes

  • Working closely with training staff and learner's managers

The Candidate:

  • Level 3 Award in Assessing Competence in the Work Environment

  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement

  • You must have a suitable lift industry experience, preferably with experience in a training/coaching role

What skill areas can be covered?

  • NVQ3 Lift & Escalator Qualifications

  • Traction Lift Installation / Hydraulic Installation

  • Lift Repair/Servicing/Installation

  • Escalator Installation/ Commissioning / Escalator Repair & Service

  • Level 4 C Testing in the Lift & Escalator Industry

  • EOR Basic Safety Units

  • Health & Safety Competence (5 units)
