My client is a well-known supplier of high-quality equipment and machinery to a range of Engineering marketplaces. They are a growing business and now have an exciting opportunity for a Service Engineer to join the service and repair department.
Suitable job titles could include Maintenance Technician, Repair Engineer, Service Technician or Maintenance Engineer.
This position is commutable from Shepshed, Loughborough, Coalville, Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Market Bosworth, Castle Donington, Burton-upon-Trent or Derby.

The Role:

  • This role is 70% workshop based and 30% field based travelling to customer sites for service and repair work
  • Diagnose and resolve technical/mechanical faults
  • Repair and grade items returned under warranty such as mechanical equipment, saws, compressors, generators and more
  • Carry out Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) of units to be despatched
  • Undertake new product development and testing
  • Provide technical/mechanical support to The Customer Support Team 
  • May also be required to assist in video calls and diagnose faults with our Customer Service Team where needed
  • Must be capable to carry out external repairs and servicing
  • Must be flexible and prepared to travel at short notice to carry out urgent repairs  
  • Candidate must hold a full UK clean driving licence and have access to their own vehicle


Minimum Skills / Experience Required:

 

  • Has previous experience of servicing, maintaining or repairing mechanical machinery or hydraulic equipment such as compressors, generators or similar
  • Previous experience testing or fault finding on 3-phase motors 
  • Candidate must hold a full UK clean driving licence
  • Experience in a field-based role would be advantageous 

 

  • Ability to work accurately under pressure, meet deadlines and use initiative 
  • Good IT skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 
  • Ability to communicate effectively 
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team


The Package:

 

  • Starting salary from £27k-£32k per annum, this is experience dependent

The role:

  • As an Invoice Analyst you will be responsible for keeping on top of incoming jobs to the business via email or phone enquiries, this includes liaising with the breakdown team.

  • Using an understanding of commercial vehicle repairs, building job narratives to upload onto the CRM system.

  • Analysing and putting together timescales on jobs from start to completion.

  • Submitting and escalating jobs to suit.

  • Reviewing commercial or vehicle repairs to ensure invoices are drawn up correctly.

  • Liaising with breakdown team, onsite account managers and finance team to ensure all jobs are analysed and completed to the correct standards.

 

The perfect Invoice Analyst will have:

  • Experience/Knowledge of commercial vehicles is essential for this role (this could be practical experience as a mechanic or within a service type role for a dealership/garage)

  • An understanding of commercial vehicle repairs in order to put together job narratives effectively

As a CNC Field Service Engineer you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and servicing of a variety of CNC grinding machines across the UK & Ireland. Therefore this role could be suitable for an engineer with 1-2 years experience, up to a time-served engineer.

The Role of Field Service Engineer:

  • Develop & maintain working relationships with current customers, promoting company products and services while on site
  • Carry out and maintain service stock  
  • Perform routine services on new machines, breakdowns and PPM’s
  • Travel throughout the UK & Southern Ireland when required (with notice) to support customers abroad (Overnight stays could be 0-4 nights per week)
  • Working as an individual or as part of team  
  • Working on CNC controls (Fanuc / Heidenhain)
  • Occasionally designing basic electrical circuits
  • Commissioning of new machines
  • Providing basic maintenance courses to customers
  • Identifying spare parts required for service jobs and specifying timescales for jobs
  • Troubleshooting Electrical, Mechanical and software faults

Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
  • HNC level mechanical or electrical engineering qualifications
  • Previous experience working on CNC machinery or similar 
  • Willing to travel and stay away from home  
  • Ability to work & communicate professionally at customers premises
  • Able to read and interpret Electrical drawings and schematics 
  • Full UK driving licence and valid passport

The Package:
