The Role:
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Head of Projects Department to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of project delivery, from inception to completion, ensuring that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the Project Department and ensuring effective management of all project activities
- Programme Management, Budgeting, Input into Technical Design in the development of Drawings; Compliance/Safety/Quality
- Supporting senior management at Tender Stage, allocating appropriate Resources and Budgeting as per the Proposal requirements
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams
- The confidence and accuracy to manage/lead/oversee and direct the work of three PM and four Design Engineer team members, provide training where require
- Responsible for the management of multi-million pound projects to be completed on time, to programme and in budget
- Work closely with Cad Designers and Production to act quickly on any possible delays; work closely with Electrical Engineers on design and installations
- Demonstrable experience in the implementation of processes to influence productivity and profitability
- Performance analysis to streamline processes and information flow
- Computer literate / practical knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook 365 Business central, Internet SAP, Microsoft Project
- An understanding of contract law would also be advantageous
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within an engineering environment
- Proven experience in managing large-scale engineering projects from inception to completion
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of project management tools and techniques
- Experience in managing budgets, schedules, and project risks
