Our established client specialises in Engineering Manufacturing for several industry sectors. They are currently looking for a new Quality Manager or Quality Engineer looking to step up into a more senior role to join their small but established quality team. Commutable from Tamworth, Hinckley, Nuneaton, Leicester and Coventry.
 
Duties Include - Quality Manager:
- Managing the Quality team 
- CMM programming or operating
- Auditing
- Creating PPAP and other industry-relevant documentation
- Hands-on inspection
- Dealing with customers face-to-face
- Working to specifications
 
Key Skills / Experience Required - Quality Manager:
- Must have worked as a Quality Manager or Quality Engineer within the engineering manufacturing industry, preferably automotive
- Quality checking experience on metal components or products
- Auditing and PPAP creation 
- CMM experience
- ISO 9001:2015 
- Yellow goods experience is desirable
- TS16949 experience is desirable
- SQEP experience is desirable
- Positive attitude at all times
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic and a high standard of personal performance
- Flexible, reliable and a strong team player

The Role of Production Manager:

  • This is a key role for the growth of the Manufacturing Department and the successful individual will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Production unit, making appropriate decisions on production, planning, raw material, quality, safety and personnel development and requirements. 
  • Manage a team of circa 70 heads with 3-4 direct reports
  • Ensure that all products are manufactured according to customer specifications and are completed and delivered to the customer on time through the efficient use of labour and resources. 
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing programmes and initiatives including cellular manufacturing processes,  Kaizen, Target costing, Kan-ban and process analysis 
  • To ensure output levels are achieved and challenged in order to hit efficiency targets 
  • To work closely and co-operate with the Quality & Technical department, ensuring processes operate at an optimum level and to continuously seek to develop and improve all processes, procedures,  operations and methods within the area of responsibility 
  • To ensure staffing levels meet production requirements each working day and that all functions are  adequately and appropriately staffed at all times
  • To ensure that, in line with agreed budgetary targets, effective resources are in place to meet the  demands of the business unit, complying with all relevant policies and procedures 
  • Effectively work with the HR Department to ensure all staff training and development needs are identified and met through the implementation of the company’s performance review process 
  • Having a pragmatic, hands-on approach with leadership skills being highly visible at all times 
  • Hold regular team communication forums and ensure that relevant business information is  communicated effectively and cascaded throughout areas of responsibility 
  • Ensure that full cooperation is given to the Health & Safety Manager in relation to risk assessment  and accident reporting incidences 
  • Delivery of a seamless interface with internal and external customers 
  • Proven Lean Manufacturing background with experience in working to ISO9001 
  • Strong people management skills, with the ability to focus and drive staff to achieve results in a  pressurised environment with strict deadlines. 

Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering or production management role (Essential)
  • Apprentice trained to NVQ level 3 or equivalent (desirable)
  • Mechanical HNC or Certificate in Management Studies (desirable)
  • Lean / Sigma Green Belt or significant practical deployment of lean manufacturing techniques,  process improvements and proactive quality management 
  • IOSH experience or similar (desirable)
  • Worked with technically complex products and equipment ideally in a fabrication or machining  environment (essential)

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced CNC Team Leader to join our CNC manufacturing client based in Leicester. Due to continued growth, they are now looking to recruit a Deputy Works Manager or CNC Supervisor / Team Leader to manage a team of CNC Millers and CNC Turners.
 
The Role of CNC Supervisor:

  • Working with the existing Production Works Manager to lead the production facility on the day shift
  • Supervising a team of CNC machinists and ensuring production levels are met across the department
  • Capacity and resource planning to meet customer schedules
  • Dealing with daily staffing issues which may arise
  • Reporting on production and productivity levels using IT software
  • Quality, health, and safety / housekeeping standards are of the highest level
  • Ensure that all company internal processes and procedures are adhered to in full
  • Leading by example and motivating the team
  • Working day shifts whilst being flexible and covering different hours as per business needs
 
Minimum Skills / Experience Required - CNC Supervisor:
  • Must have previous Production Supervisory / Team Leading experience from within a CNC engineering manufacturing workshop
  • Proven track record in supervising and leading a team of CNC machine operators to achieve production output targets
  • Needs to have a high level of appreciation for Health and Safety in the workplace and always seek to improve
  • Reliable and hard working
  • A high level of appreciation for Quality and company policies
