Are you a skilled Site Supervisor with the ability to install, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical machinery? If yes, read on….
My client is an established firm in the recycling sector, based in the North East of England and commutable from Chester, Frodsham, Birkenhead and Heswell. They are currently looking for a skilled Site Engineer to deliver large preventive, reactive and upgrade projects on the site by planning and coordinating the work of the Site Engineering Team.
The Role:

  • To recruit and retain Mechanical and Electrical Site Fitters to establishment requirements
  • To ensure all Site Fitters complete a thorough on-boarding process
  • To train all Site Fitters on every production line including safety procedures, troubleshooting and maintenance procedures ensuring particular focus on fire safety and pre shift maintenance checks
  • To maintain all training records and personnel records
  • To ensure regular communication with Site Manager and HSE Manager and Production Team Leaders is maintained.
  • To be the liaison manager with the Lead Design Engineer (London) to plan and coordinate site visits and project work supported by the necessary resources
  • Creating and executing daily, weekly, monthly and annual maintenance schedules
  • Reviewing daily activity to ensure it remains on schedule and to standard
  • Organising a 1 to 1 and Meetings structure to ensure there is two-way communication across all teams
  • Manage the Engineering labour and parts budget
  • Plan, implement and lead the annual plant shutdown
  • Maintain and develop contacts with suppliers
  • To be the main point of contact for contractors working within the designated area and ensure these contractors are following all required legislation and policies at all times
  • Securing and maintaining appropriate levels of equipment parts
  • Implementing all the company’s procedures and policies
  • Managing all problems or obstacles on site to maximise performance
  • Overseeing all health, safety and environment requirements
Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
  • People Management skills including appraisal and performance management skills
  • Forecasting and scheduling skills
  • Train the Trainer and Team Training skills
  • At least five years of mechanical and electrical engineering experience in a multi-line plant
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel to support work-in-progress and engineering schedules
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience in electrical and mechanical engineering (degree level)

  • Based at Ellesmere Port site
  • Monday - Friday shift
  • Reporting to Site Engineer
  • 28 days holiday total (expected to work bank holidays as part of shifts)
