Fire Safety Engineer

This role is an exceptional opportunity for a Chartered Fire Safety Engineer to become a pivotal part of a highly successful forensic investigation company and join their expert team.

This prestigious company has a global presence and is an industry leader when it comes to Fire Engineering, Safety and Forensic Investigation. To continue their excellence, they are looking for a Chartered Engineer to make a significant contribution to deliver specialist fire safety projects to clients across the UK.

What do you need to be successful in?

  • Managing key projects with a focus in the construction of fire safety provisions in buildings
  • Supporting clients both commercial and residential with practical fire safety/construction design
  • Experience of Fire testing of products and/ or materials.Practical experience of fire safety design and/ or construction of timber-framed buildings.

The person:

  • A Chartered Fire Engineer (CEng) preferably with the IFE
  • BEng/BSc Degree qualified in Fire / Electrical / Mechanical / Building Services Engineering; MEng / MSc preferred
  • Practical experience of fire safety design and/or construction to meet the requirements of Part B the Building Regulations (England/Wales)
  • Effective management of customer relationships with a structured approach, commercial astuteness and execution of the vision of the business.

Salary: £36,000 (depending on experience) Overtime Call-out

We have recently secured a new role with a rapidly growing independent lift engineering organisation for a highly competent Lift Service & Repair Engineer. The requirement is to manage a new service contract of 80 lifts. You will have the technical understanding for more in depth diagnostics for repairs and then continue to manage this site for regular periodic services. Over a short period of time your route will get easier as you get on top of the service route. You will be used to travelling as part of your job and happy travelling from Yorkshire, West Midlands, East Midlands/ Lincolnshire and up to North East.

If you are a skilled Lift Engineer that specialises in service and repairs and you are living a commutable distance from anywhere central UK and up to Northumberland and you are looking for a varied role with its challenges to get on top of a service route which will include in-depth fault finding, servicing, repairs both minor and major then this opportunity is for you!

Candidate:

  • NVQ 3 Qualified - Service & Repair

  • 5 years experience servicing and repairing passenger lifts, platform lifts, goods lifts, access, dumbwaiters - Minimum Expectation

  • Confident repairing a range of manufacturers for passenger and goods lifts - Essential

  • Full UK Driving License - Essential

  • Experience in Fault Finding can read electrical lift diagrams - Essential

  • Electrical wiring within the lift industry - Essential

  • 17th/18th Edition Qualification - Desirable

Responsibilities:

  • Lift servicing of passenger, goods lifts, access, dumbwaiters

  • Offering technical guidance to Lift Engineers on site and over the phone

  • Site surveys - Provide accurate lift information to best inform management decisions

  • Complete technical repairs on a variety of lifts

  • Execute in-depth fault finding to diagnose problematic lifts - servicing skills
