An opportunity has arisen for an experienced administrator to join an established engineering business with excellent projected growth.  The role is based within the Buyer/Procurement team and will effectively evolve into the successful candidate becoming an  Assistant Buyer, supporting the Senior Buyer to ensure that clients expectations are managed.  This role is integral to the stock management required to support blue chip high value accounts.

 

Duties include:

  • Processing monthly orders from key accounts
  • Cross referencing to ensure that information is correctly entered from the clients schedule to ERP Redthorn 
  • Ensuring that Excel is updated to mirror current stock levels and additional stock is logged to fulfill orders
  • Generating purchase orders as agreed with your Senior Buyer utilising preferred suppliers
  • Contacting suppliers to order stock
  • Accepting deliveries of stock arrival, checking against allocated purchase order

The Role of Production Manager:

  • Optimisation of machine cycle times and operator in cycle activity
  • Specification and sourcing of optimal cutting tools to achieve best possible productivity outcomes and operational economy, liaise with and advise Procurement accordingly
  • Work closely with Supervisors / shop floor to get accurate feedback on programs, fixtures and tooling
  • Trouble shoot and work on any production areas established as problematic by the Manufacturing Manager

  • Liaise with Service Engineers and spares departments when required
  • Maintain machine service schedule, coolant checks and Daily check sheets
