The Right Person - Software Engineer Specific Responsibilities

  • Support machine wiring and electrical panel build when required

  • Write the code required for correct function of the machinery

  • Liaise with electrical and mechanical design to ensure correct function of machinery

  • Undertake testing required ensuring the safety of the electrical system

  • Install and commission machinery on customers premises as required which may be global

  • Complete required documentation for technical file and machine manuals

  • Complete all fault diagnosis elements and operator functions for the machinery

  • Undertake all functional tests for the machinery

  • Liaise with suppliers when required to complete the software code

  • Ensure correct and safe function of the safety system within the machinery to the correct legislative requirements

CNC part off line programming and operation of 3, 4 and 5 axis machining centres.
Knowledge of Heidenhain controls would be advantageous.

Alternatively, you could be a recent Engineering Graduate looking to start your career in a highly successful, established engineering business; either way our client is looking for a candidate with an engineering qualification, HNC or equivalent; you also need to have a full UK driving licence for client visits that may be required. As you will be the single point of contact for customers you need to have excellent client relationship building skills. You also need to be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
